Grow Today. Invest in Tomorrow.

Growing, processing and exporting Rwanda’s harvest from our Bugesera fields.

MUGERA Investment Group runs irrigated horticulture and commercial maize in Bugesera, dries and stores its own grain, and turns it into balanced animal feed — working alongside smallholder farmers who grow with us under written, bankable agreements.

Specialty export

Horticulture & export

Speciality produce, picked and packed for export.

Green beans, Badaye hot pepper and fresh vegetables are grown under irrigation in Bugesera, graded by size and defect, then packed to buyer specifications.

Cold-chain handling carries the harvest from the field to the packhouse and through export — to European and regional buyers who pay a premium for quality they can trace.

Fodder & animal nutrition

Balanced rations from locally grown grains.

Our fodder production and feed mill turn locally grown maize, soya and crop residue into balanced rations for the whole livestock sector — dairy and beef cattle, poultry, goats and sheep.

By milling close to where the grain grows, we keep quality high, costs low and the value in the hands of Rwandan producers.

Our purpose is to build a value chain where Rwandan farmers grow more, earn more, and see their harvest reach markets that pay for quality.

From the seed to the feed bag and the export crate, we keep the chain connected — so quality built at the farm isn’t lost before it reaches the buyer.

What the team works to do daily

  • Extend irrigation and quality grading across our own fields
  • Dry and store maize with minimal post-harvest loss
  • Run the feed mill on locally grown grain and crop residue
  • Sign outgrowers with a written price before planting
  • Recover input credit fairly and pay on schedule by mobile money
  • Grade, pack and cold-chain our produce from field to buyer

Grow with us

Outgrow with a written price before you plant.

MUGERA contracts smallholder farmers as outgrowers: inputs supplied on credit and recovered at harvest, agronomy support in Kinyarwanda, and a written price with a guaranteed buyer before planting.

When your crop comes in, we grade it, take it, and pay on the agreed schedule by mobile money — so the season you planned is the season you get.
